Last weekend we had been to Mandalay restaurant (Burmese and Mandarin cuisine) at San Francisco. This was our first time trying Burmese cuisine and I should say we were totally blown away by the food and service at Mandalay.
The tea leaf salad and samusa soup that we ordered for appetizers were absolutely awesome and divine. We also had the Mandalay special noodles and spicy tofu curry/coconut rice. They had just the right amount of spice and were very flavorful. Also tried their ginger lemonade which was phenomenal, the best I have ever had :-)
Their service is fabulous. The waiters take time to explain the ingredients in the menu and also make good recommendations for first timers.
On the downside, the restaurant is a little pricey for the portions they offer, and there could be quite some wait time during the weekends. But I guess it's still worth the wait and the money. If you are in San francisco and looking to have some good food, I'd strongly recommened Mandalay. Go check it out.
